Brian joined the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel in 2022 and advises University clients, including Innovation Partnerships (formerly, Office of Tech Transfer), on intellectual property, technology transfer, and research legal issues.
Prior to joining the University, Brian worked as in-house counsel for Harman International Industries in Novi, Michigan, focusing on intellectual property procurement and disputes in the automotive and consumer electronics industries. Before that, he worked at Brooks Kushman PC in Southfield, Michigan, focusing on all aspects of patent and trademark litigation, from investigation of claims through trial.
Brian received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
