The Advance Grant

The ADVANCE Grant program like MTRAC, will provide a strong incentive for faculty with early stage technologies at the Michigan public universities to engage with their university’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and commercialization activities.

Toyota Research Institute

Building on a successful five-year collaboration with University of Michigan faculty, the Toyota Research Institute will renew its research partnership with U-M for an additional five years, with projects funded up to $3M per year, TRI announced Jan. 26.

U-M Therapeutic Innovation Fund

The U-M Therapeutic Innovation Fund, offered by the Michigan Center for Therapeutic Innovation (MCTI) and Fast Forward Medical Innovation (FFMI), is a five-year, $2.5 million fund created in 2016 to accelerate the discovery and translation of therapeutic candidates at the University of Michigan.

U.S. Bayh-Dole Act

The U.S. Bayh-Dole Act of 1980 allows universities and other non-profit institutions to have ownership rights to discoveries resulting from federally-funded research, provided certain obligations are met.
