MTRAC Transportation funds research applications in advanced transportation materials, robotics and autonomy, sensors, electric vehicle drivetrain, propulsion, software, controls, data, and advanced manufacturing processes

MTRAC Innovation Hub for AgBio

Statewide commercialization program with in-depth domain expertise in AgBio research related to food, fuel & fiber, either as inputs or outputs. This includes bio-derived/bio-based materials, natural resources and animal health.

NSF I-Corps Hub

The NSF I-Corps Hub: Great Lakes Region aims to spur innovation, collaboration, and economic impact in the region. Supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation, this regional alliance is a network of educational institutions and other partners that educate, support, and connect academic researchers to the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the region.

Partnerships for Innovation: Accelerating Innovation Research- Technology Transfer (PFI:AIR-TT)

The PFI:AIR-TT program supports research to overcome technology barriers or knowledge gaps in the transformation of fundamental science and engineering discoveries into market-valued solutions.

SBIR and STTR Programs

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization.

The Advance Grant

The ADVANCE Grant program like MTRAC, will provide a strong incentive for faculty with early stage technologies at the Michigan public universities to engage with their university’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and commercialization activities.

Wolverine Venture Fund

Wolverine Venture Fund is an evergreen fund that seeks investment opportunities in SaaS, Biotech, Health Tech, Advanced Materials, and other advanced and emerging technologies. The fund invests in priced series seed, A, or B rounds alongside established venture capital firms serving as lead investors.
